NEW MUSOS INTRO SESSIONS

Curios about KYO? We’re extending an invitation to attend a NEW MUSOS INTRO SESSION – no obligation to join, just come and try us out within a small group with the support of a music teacher. You will have an opportunity to meet the orchestra and conductor to find out all about what we do, and whether you would like to join now or in the future.

Please use this short sign up form and we’ll be in touch shortly about the next suitable Intro Session for you (likely 4th or 11th March 2024) at Kāpiti College.

Intro sessions currently being offered (pending musician interest): Flute, Cello, Violin/Viola, Clarinet, Saxophone, Horn/Brass. We may be able to organise sessions for other instruments too, so do let us know what you play (Double bass, Oboe, or Percussion anyone?).

Here’s that sign up sheet —–>

*** just hover over the form to scroll down and hit the ‘SUBMIT’ button at the end.

Over the last 15 years we’ve learnt a lot about how to support young musicians in their musical development. We put a strong emphasis on encouraging members’ enjoyment of playing together, and fostering a warm, collaborative and inclusive relationship between conductor and musicians. And that’s the ‘secret sauce’ that produces KYO’s high levels of musicianship and brilliant performances.

We’d love to welcome you to KYO – home to Kāpiti’s finest young musicians!

Registrations now open for KYO 2024

Playing in an orchestra is a fantastically thrilling experience, and we’d absolutely encourage all young musicians to give it a go. You should also know, we are very serious about having fun together!
